Services

We utilize Myofascial Release (MFR) in all pain relief sessions. We also combine MFR with our own massage method called Myofascial Therapeutic Massage. Usually after one of our sessions we are told two things, "I have never had a massage like that before," and "That was the best massage I've ever had."

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a type of manual (hands-on) therapy that targets connective tissue called fascia. Fascia is the immediate surrounding of all the structures in our body, right down to each and every cell! When the fascia becomes restricted by injury, pain and dysfunction can ensue.

The treatment itself is a private, one-on-one session consisting of stretching and/or compression to tightened/ restricted areas. While it can be uncomfortable at times, it is generally quite relaxing. You will always work with the same therapist.

MFR is a holistic approach in that it deals with the body as a whole, not just a knee or a low back, for example. It also recognizes the mind-body interaction in health and healing.

MFR is an excellent choice for anyone who suffers from any form of pain - chronic or acute, mild or severe. Also, it is often helpful for pain that has no clear origin, or symptoms that are out of proportion with the diagnosis. If you have tried multiple therapies and approaches with limited success, MFR might be the answer for you!

Myofascial Therapeutic Massage

Developed by Woody Haiken, Myofascial Therapeutic Massage draws on the best of many modalities including Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy and Swedish Massage, to give the client the most thorough full-body massage. The pressure applied is always just the right pressure, just below the client's pain threshold. Trigger points, fascial restrictions and all other sources of pain are melted away. Clients usually say, "It hurts, but it is a good hurt." In most cases, pain that had been a constant companion is gone, and gone for good. In most cases, there is no soreness the next day, as is the case with most other deep tissue techniques.
